Getting good at a game sometimes takes time longer than one anticipates. Something similar happened with the baseball legend, Derek Jeter, when he tried his hands at golf.
It turned out that the baseball player was not as smooth at golf as he was at baseball. Trying quite hard and not getting the expected results made him frustrated. He got frustrated enough to improve himself that he started working on himself even harder than before. And eventually, got better.

He played the game with some professional golfers and his former teammate, Tino Martinez. And eventually, he got better at the game, not like a pro but much better than he was before.
How did baseball legend Derek Jeter feel after being not good at golf?
One thing that makes the baseball legend different from many is his want to get better no matter the time and effort. When Derek Jeter started playing the game and discovered that he was not good at it, he could have chosen to leave it at that.
But he did not give up. Many would have, but the baseball legend did not. Instead, the ultra-competitive edge of the Hall of Famer drove him to get better.
“It’s frustrating. It’s probably the most frustrating thing I’ve done because the ball’s not moving. I should be able to hit it. I can hit it, but it doesn’t go where I want it to go,” Jeter said in an interview.
Additionally, he said, “I’m addicted to trying to improve.”
Jeter found something that quenches the competitive thirst that made him better at it. His handicap rose to a very respectable 10 in the two years, after he got retired from being a professional baseball player.

“It’s fun to get an opportunity to meet a lot of these guys that I’ve admired from afar and fun to see the best in the world at what they do,” Jeter said.
