Mike Tyson is a boxing legend but that is not where his fame ends. The super PAC supporting Robert F. Kennedy Jr.‘s presidential campaign, American Values 2024, has revealed plans for an extravagant fundraising gala in late January. The event, highlighted on the social media platform X, features prominent guests such as actor Martin Sheen, Tyson, and singers Dionne Warwick and Andrea Bocelli.

The event, which is set to take place on January 22 also serves as a dual celebration, marking Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s 70th birthday. Despite abandoning his unlikely bid for the Democratic Party nomination last year, Kennedy Jr.’s campaign faces the challenge of securing his name on all 50 state ballots, a demanding and expensive endeavor. But they might have another challenge before they proceed to solve this.

Kennedy and Tyson have been long-time acquaintances, both impressed with how well the other does in his respective field. However, it seems Tyson will not be present for the fundraiser. He believed the gathering was a birthday celebration rather than a fundraiser, and regardless, he had no plans to attend. Tyson’s representative clarified, “Mr. Tyson was invited to RFK’s bday celebration, which he cannot attend, not a fundraiser.”

It appears that this announcement came as a surprise to Warwick as well. The iconic singer, through her representative, explicitly stated that she would not be attending the event nor backing the candidate. Additionally, Bocelli’s representative confirmed that he is not participating in or performing at the event. In the case of Martin Sheen, he took to Instagram Stories to make it clear that he does not endorse RFK Jr. and will not be attending his party either.

Interestingly, Robert F Kennedy Jr. appeared on Mike Tyson’s podcast Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson to talk about myriad topics under the sun.
