The weather has become a new problem at the Beijing Winter Olympics. Even since the Olympics kicked off, multiple events had to be postponed or delayed due to bad weather conditions.

This is difficult news to deal with. Athletes prepare hard for that one particular moment where they will perform, and when it’s delayed, they tend to lose motivation.

The Mixed Parallel Event was canceled on Saturday, February 19th, due to weather conditions. This was the last alpine skiing event for this year’s Winter Olympics. Notably, this was also American skier Mikaela Shiffrin’s last chance at a medal.
