According to sources, AT&T is looking to offload Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment soon. The parent company AT&T has been looking to get rid of its massive $154 billion debt. A lot of this debt stems from the Time Warner deal which was a little over $100 billion. Microsoft is the latest addition to the list of potential buyers who could take WB entertainment off AT&T’s hands.
Players like Take-Two Interactive, Activision Blizzard, and Electronic Arts have all expressed their interest in buying the games division. It is no surprise that Microsoft will want to make an offer. Microsoft is one of the world’s biggest console manufacturers. Microsoft could get a lot more with this deal

This could be a huge addition to Microsoft’s game development ranks. WB’s gaming division currently owns Rocksteady Studios, Monolith Productions, NetherRealm Studio, and Portkey Games. Rocksteady owns the Arkham Trilogy franchise, Monolith created the Middle Earth series. Moreover, NetherRealm is responsible for the popular Mortal Kombat franchise. NetherRealm is also the studio behind the largely popular Injustice series. This could change the face of Xbox games and exclusives in the future if this deal goes through.
According to sources, AT&T is looking to sell WB Interactive Entertainment for around $4 billion. This figure could go either way considering the assets that will be included in the deal. WB is reportedly developing the highly anticipated Batman and Harry Potter games. The Batman game was scheduled for an announcement at E3 2020.
