Mercedes are a team that have given Formula 1 in this hybrid-era a new meaning. In fact, the way they have dominated the proceedings, ever since they entered this new phase along with the other nine teams- from the onset of 2015 F1 season- it may not be wrong to suggest they’ve made winning a habit.

Not since 2015 have they lost a Driver and Constructor title to any other team on the grid even once. In fact, the only time a Mercedes driver didn’t a world championship from the onset of 2015 was Lewis losing out in 2016. But hey, it doesn’t increase anyone’s humor quotient- for the lack of a better word- to share that he lost the world title to his teammate, Nico Rosberg, a Mercedes driver at the end of the day.
To keep the term ‘lol’ aside here’s what makes sense.
If you were looking for the meaning of the term prominence, then probably, Mercedes serve a fine example of it.
And a lot many sides may want to follow the practice and ideas that Mercedes have been keeping up with. And Racing Point happen to be a side that is interested in forging closer ties with the Toto Wolff-led outfit.
So what does the Austrian leader have to say about his sides’ ties with Racing Point?

Calling it a ‘B-Team’ model, Wolff, who happens to admire the business model, currently being executed by teams like Haas (supplied by Ferrari) and Alfa Romeo (ditto as Haas), shared the following:
We are not doing a Haas-Ferrari model because Haas was a new entry, a team created from scratch,” Wolff said.

“These guys exist for a long time. I don’t see what’s so bad in a Haas-Ferrari model actually.
“We have enabled somebody that was keen to enter Formula 1 in setting up a team, with the cooperation with Ferrari it got out of the blocks really well, and fights solidly in the midfield.”
