Flexing in front of the mirror, the Nigerian lion a.k.a Samson Dauda is locked and loaded, ready to roll in 2023, Mr. Olympia. The reigning champion of the Arnold Classic 2023, defeating the stand-offish and stiff competitors across the globe, made him one of the protrudes of the rugged world of bodybuilding. Until 2017, Samson Dauda competed in the European circuit, though after becoming the conquistador at the 201 IFBB Diamond Cup, he finally got the IFBB pro card.

The Nigerian bodybuilder is on the verge of reaching the zenith, topping out some of the prominent bodybuilders of all time, including the last year Mr. Olympia, Hadi Choopan. Under the tutelage of Milos Sarcev, fifteen weeks prior to the most prestigious event in the history of bodybuilding, Dauda uses his Instagram to shoot a video blathering about the mental stiffness of an athlete and why it is necessary.

While preparing for Olympia series 2023, Dauda is in the gym practicing and working out, putting intense pressure on his shoulders, saying, “People take the whole idea, the training, the discipline, the diet, and they think that is where the strive and hard work is.” Later, he talks about where the actual trauma comes from and the mental pressure that athletes have to endure while preparing for any prominent competition. “Training is easy. the mental ups and downs that the sport has and the drama that comes with it, is a different ball game by itself.” 

Moreover, not only the Nigerian lion but every other competitor who is going to be present at Mr. Olympia is geared up for the show, waiting for the climax. A bodybuilding fan page on Instagram, dubbed ‘muscular1power’ made a collage of Samson, and Hadi Choopan by creating a poll captioning it, “The appointment of Mr. Olympia 2023 is approaching, who will overthrow the current king Hadi Choopan?”

While pursuing his training, Dauda says, “You have to learn to block it, and you have to really learn and grow the skills because no one is going to teach you that, no one is going to come and say chase after this.” Additionally, concluding the statement, he quotes “Be aware that the mental side of it is the most gruelling part of it all.” Though Samson talks about the mental stigma that is part of the process, fans are frenzied after the video, braced up to watch the lion perform at the most awaited event of the year.

The Nigerian lion goes on posing with his pumped thighs, flexed arms, and side pose, with an amazing pose of his traps and chest in front of the mirror, captioning the video, “I am inevitable, in the words of Thanos.” As the pose was precisely crafted in the video, fans are hyperactive to watch him at the competition.
