Liverpool face up to Chelsea on Saturday for the first time since the London club destroyed Liverpool’s hopes of a first league title in 24 years. A point I’m sure Chelsea fans will be making come Saturday lunch time. The game saw Jose Mourinho’s side soak up pressure, time waste and hit Liverpool on the break when they had the chance resulting in a 0-2 victory for the blues. This time around Chelsea travel to Anfield top of the table and a much different game is expected as Chelsea will look to extend there unbeaten league run to fourteen games.A defeat for Liverpool could see them go into the international break six points adrift of fourth place and 15 points behind Chelsea.
Brendan Rodgers is likely to recall captain Steven Gerrard to the starting line up after he was dropped to the bench in midweek. Jordan Henderson and Raheem Sterling are also likely to return to the side after receiving the same treatment as there skipper.Rodgers still has plenty of decisions to make following Liverpool’s spirited defeat in Madrid. Kolo Toure and Adam Lallana impressed in the Bernabeu, and put forward strong claims to start on Saturday.Jose Mourinho also made changes for his midweek clash with Maribor in Slovakia. Diego Costa, Gary Cahill, Oscar, Thibaut Courtois and Cesar Azpilicueta are likely to return to the starting line up following there drop to the bench. Chelsea are the only team in the Premier league to still be unbeaten and are the leagues highest scorers. Diego Costa has scored nine so far which is just four less than the whole of the Liverpool team has managed so far.
