In what can be said as a bewildering scenario, not of vital concern, Bangladesh ODI skipper Mashrafe Morataza suffered minor hand injuries in a road accident, in Mirpur. The incident occurred when Mashrafe Mortaza was going to the Shere Bangla Stadium and a bus had a mild collision with the cycle rickshaw in which he was travelling.

The right-hand medium pacer left his home for the usual training session in the stadium and was on his way when the accident took place. In the accident, he has suffered minor injuries on both his hands. He was treated at the ground and had bandage on both his hands. The incident seemed to have shaken him a bit but he looked okay on his feet. He is sweating out at the training session for his upcoming home assignment in the ODI series against India, starting from 18th June.

Bangladesh coach Chandika Hathurasingha seemed less perplexed over the situation. He said, “This is unfortunate. We are concerned about his palm. But we will give him maximum chance to recover in time for the ODI series against India.” The Bangladesh skipper seemed to be in a well shape for the upcoming challenge. His injury, if not properly taken care of, might come as a handy disadvantage to the host side, as Mortaza leads the pace attack of the team and in the absence of an experienced bowler like him, it might get tough for the Bangladesh team to catch hold of the in-form Indian batsmen, who love to bat in the sub-continent conditions.
