Roma are now the front runners to sign Porto striker Jackson Martinez according to the Express, with the Italian club jumping ahead of Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool in the race for the Colombian.
Martinez has a £27.5m release clause in his contract and is looking to play in a more competitive league, but with the English clubs twiddling their thumbs, Roma manager Rudi Garcia and Martinez have reportedly agreed upon a contract.
Roma are hoping they could complete a move for the prolific forward in January. The Colombian is in exceptional form and is scoring some eye catching goals. A move to Italy seems more likely than one to England at this point.
