Marlon Samuels, who played a crucial role in the World Cup T20 final and led his team to victory, will join the squad of Delhi Daredevils. He will be replacing injured South African wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock. De Kock was ruled out of the tournament as he picked an injury to right index finger during New Zealand tour.
Samuels remained unsold in IPL auction with the base price of one crore. Before this, he played for Pune Warriors India in IPL 2013. During that season he scored only 124 runs. He also grabbed eight wickets.

Delhi Daredevils need some experienced players in their squad, which is full of youngsters. Their most experienced player is Karun Nair who has played 93 games. With Samuels in the squad, it will definitely boost the team’s morale. Samuels has played two match-winning knocks in 2012 and in 2016 World Cup T20 final. He has also played?149 T20 matches since his debut in 2006. He has scored 3757 runs at an average of 32.66 and scored two hundred during these matches.
