With a few hours to go for the Western and Southern Open to commence, preparations are on the final tier. Third-seeded Daniil Medvedev rallied a set of questions prior to the start of the Western and Southern Open.

“I think Novak is a great champion. Of course, many things can disturb him, his life, like the things that happened lately, but when he’s on court, it’s a different story”– Medvedev stated.
Having recovered from the virus, the Serbian looks confident to grab his 18th Grand Slam in New York. Daniil Medvedev, who is a potential challenger to the title, spoke very highly of the World Number 1.

“Some things that go against him makes him stronger,” the Russian stated.
He wasn’t shy in speaking about Djokovic’s strength. Specifically, his ability to turn a game around on its head even when he’s under pressure.
Djokovic and Medvedev have faced off on 6 occasions. The Serbian holds the edge over the Russian with 4 wins. However, Djokovic was shown the door by Medvedev on two occasions in Cincinnati and Monte Carlo.

Both of them have the opportunity to lock horns in the Western and Southern Open if they reach the finals. Undoubtedly the tennis world would be thirsting to see these two in action irrespective of whether they face each other or not.
