Manchester United are ready to make a £15m bid for the in-form Irish right back Seamus Coleman of Everton to solve their ongoing search problem for a perfect right back.
Louis Van Gaal’s main priority is to strengthen his squad, especially the defense. They’ve missed out on signing many good right backs and really hope to land the Irishman. Dani Alves’s contract extension with Barcelona and Nathaniel Clyne’s transfer to Liverpool left them no choice. Antonio Valencia, who is primarily a midfielder, has been taking up the right back position for most of the games and has been doing a good job in fulfilling his duties. Sometimes, Chris Smalling or Phil Jones has to play that position in his absence. Also, Rafael, their main right back, has been out of form and is likely to exit the club this summer.
Signed for Everton from Sligo Rovers in 2009, Seamus Coleman had attracted interest from many top clubs namely Bayern Munich but Manchester United steer clear in signing this amazing talent. He has established himself as one of the bests in the Premier League at his position and it’ll be very hard to convince Everton to let him go. He also represents his country at a higher level and plays a major role as a defender. He has a contract with Everton keeping him at Goodison Park till 2019 but high likeliness of playing in the Champions League can bring about a change in his plans. He’s been on their radar for quite a time and Louis Van Gaal will not let the golden opportunity of boosting his squad majorly slip out of his hands.
