Pep Guardiola opens up on his future with Manchester City

After five incredible seasons with the club already, he is in his sixth season with Manchester City. However, when asked about his future with the club, he mentioned that he won’t be staying for a long time.

“No, I don’t think so,” said Pep when asked about a long stay at the Etihad.

“I’m incredibly happy, we saw the team grow and grow and that’s the best signal you do well. I adapt and adjust to the Premier League, and with 200 games I cannot be more satisfied, amazing for what we live and the way we want to play. I’ve been many years here. It’s because you’ve been many years and won some games,” said Guardiola.

Pep has already won three Premier League titles, four League Cups, and one FA Cup. Moreover, he took Manchester City to their first Champions League final last year, but failed to win the competition. In spite of his success with the club, the lack of a Champions League title would be the only disappointment in his City career.

Who will take over Manchester City after Guardiola?

The obvious question would be who takes over the reins at Manchester City. Guardiola doesn’t stay with a club for a long time and his stay with City is already the longest in his career. Whoever the next manager is, they’ll have big shoes to fill, but also an incredibly talented squad to work with.

With Zinedine Zidane amongst the ranks, he could be tempted to sign for Manchester City. With the riches available to the club, Zidane will have ample funds to spend. Reports also suggest that Leicester City boss, Brendan Rodgers could be next in line.
