Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has made a stunning “U-turn” on his future at the club. The Belgian international, who is currently with his country at the FIFA World Cup in Russia has apparently decided to stay at Old Trafford for the foreseeable future.

As per media reports, the former Evertonian was ready to leave Old Trafford after several clubs including Paris Saint Germain and Juventus had enquired about his availability. In a candid interview a few months back, he had even blamed the club for failing to offer him a new contract when the time was right and mentioned that he held all the “power” in the negotiations then. However, United manager Jose Mourinho was desperate to keep him at the club and it seems that his efforts have finally borne fruit.

With Brazilian midfielder Fred coming in, Fellaini will most likely be the second choice central midfielder for United now. He will, however, continue to play a part in games where physical presence is required and should be a good backup plan for United.
