Malinga Becomes 2nd Highest Wicket-taker in ICC ODI Events

Sri Lanka lost their match against Pakistan and lost the spot in the semi-finals of Champions Trophy 2017 despite Malinga’s best efforts. We might not see Malinga in a global competition again. It could have been such a different story but Malinga has set a new record by becoming the second highest wicket taker in ICC ODI events. He has taken 68 wickets and surpassed his former teammate Chaminda Vaas’s of 67 wickets. For India Zaheer Khan is the highest wicket taker with 59 wickets in 32 matches. McGrath has highest wickets (92 wickets) in ICC ODI tournaments.
