While on the show, she also revealed the “push moment” in her life. It was the time her son fell sick for the first time. He was around 6 months old when he came down with a fever. However, being a parent for the first time, this was a troubling moment for her as her son refused to sleep or eat properly. Her anxiety caused her to ponder if she was succeeding in her role as a mother. Jasmine then decided to visit a pediatrician in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Her pediatrician handled the case with ease and her son was asleep in no time. The pediatrician recognized her weariness and encouraged her to let go, to allow herself to release any pent-up emotions. This made her realize that her struggles and uncertainties were visible, and her kind gesture made her feel understood and supported.
It also made her realize that she didn’t have to face it alone. She had a community, a village of people around her who were willing to help and support her. It was okay to lean on others for assistance and guidance.
