However, the win was far from easy. Carlsen’s opponent, Russia’s Ian Nepomniachtchi, put his best foot forward, drawing the first five games initially, before falling victim to Magnus’ masterclass.
?After five games there were five draws and I?d had very, very few chances to play for anything more,? Magnus said, speaking of the championship.

?Magnus is proud of saying that he?s probably the top player who works the least with the computer and is the least influenced by the computer,? said Carlsen?s coach, Peter Heine Nielsen.
