Gary Kasparov is considered the greatest chess player ever. Right behind him is Magnus Carlsen, who is only behind in the number of weeks spent as the highest-rated player.
Even though Carlsen has dominated the games of chess for 8 years, he is still not the highest-rated player. Meanwhile, Kasparov has dominated the game for 20 years.

Recently, Carlsen talked about beating Grandmaster Kasparov.
“I would say that Garry dominated for 20 years. And even if I were to win this championship, I would still have a way to go to reach his heights,” said Carlsen.
However, he also added that even if he doesn’t achieve that, he won’t be losing any sleep over it.
“And if I don’t, that will not lose me any sleep,” added Carlsen.
Magnus Carlsen is currently facing Russian player Ian Nepomniachtchi across 14 games in the World Chess Championships in Dubai.
Alireza Firouzja – A new challenge for Magnus Carlsen
The Iranian-born French player Alireza Firouja is the new sensation in the world of chess. Firouzja won the Grandmaster title at the young age of 14.
Currently, he is World No. 2 and has a future as bright as the sun. Magnus Carlsen looks forward to playing with Firouzja and believes he will turn out to be a motivating factor for all the players.

“His achievements are simply extraordinary, and it’s clear that he’s been all already dubbed the crown prince for a long time,” said Carlsen.
Carlsen added that Alireza Firouzja will be the one to offer a tough challenge to him as well as the others.
“He’s the one to watch both for me and for others. And hopefully, that will motivate all of us,” he said.
