Belarusian tennis player Aryna Sabalenka is one of the big names on the women’s Tour. The consistency displayed by her over the past couple of seasons has been noteworthy. However, since the beginning of 2022, she has struggled a lot with her serve, recording as many as 21 double faults in a game this year. 

The World No. 2 player is currently competing at the Australian Open 2022. While her serving hasn’t improved by a lot in the competition, she has won all three of her matches to progress to the fourth round.

Aryna Sabalenka joked about registering fewer double faults 

Reflecting on her match today, Sabalenka was happy that she registered only 10 double faults, which is less than the number in her previous two matches. In the first round, she served 12 double faults and in the second round, she served 19 double faults. 

Speaking on today’s performance, Aryna stated, “I’m really happy right now, and mostly really happy that I made only 10 double faults (and then raised her arms to the crowd).”

Coming to her execution at the Australian Open 2022, she has managed to win all matches in three sets. Interestingly, she has lost the opening set in all three matches before going on and winning the final two. 

Next up for the Belarusian player is Kaia Kanepi from Estonia. They have faced each other once prior to their upcoming match. Interestingly, it was Kaia who ended up winning the match in three sets during the Round of 32 in Melbourne Gippsland Trophy last year.
