Lexi Thompson is one of the top golfers on the LPGA Tour. She has won 11 LPGA Tour trophies in her career so far. Meanwhile, Lexi is currently competing at the Pelican Women’s Championship at Pelican Golf Club. Moreover, she has had an incredible start to the penultimate event of the season. 

Lexi Thompson was a child prodigy who made her debut in 2012 at the age of 17. Since then, she has been a dominant force on the Tour and has achieved plenty of things in her career. However, she had a rough patch in 2018 when she took a break all of a sudden, citing personal reasons.

But Thompson has made a strong comeback as she has secured two LPGA Tour wins since her return. However, the 2021 season has been slightly tough on her as she hasn’t won any events. But saying so, she currently is in a commanding position at the Pelican Women’s Championship after round 2.

Lexi Thompson says listening to Pitbull has kept her going this week

Lexi Thompson shared the lead after round two at the Pelican Women’s Championship. She is leading an event on the LPGA Tour after ages. Meanwhile, after round 2 in the post-round interview, a journalist asked did Pitbull fire her up this week? And Lexi agreed with laughter. 

“Oh yeah! Ever since Tuesday night, I have been listening to Pitbull. I haven’t gotten it out of my head. All of his songs. I don’t know if it’s a good thing or a bad thing,” said Thompson and burst into laughter. Moreover, Lexi is known for her comical answered in the press conference, and she tries to keep the environment pleasant.

Meanwhile, halfway through round 3, Lexi Thompson leads the Pelican Women’s Championship with a score of -15. She currently leads the event by two strokes. However, world no.1 Nelly Korda is making a surge and is just two strokes behind Lexi and shares the second spot with Jennifer Kupcho.
