‘It’s Still the Golf’: LPGA Star Oozes Confidence as She Reveals the Secret Behind Her Recent Success

During the JM Eagle LA Championship, which was marked by intense rivalry and tense times, an Indian LPGA star went on to give a brilliant performance, that combined both her skill and her strategic acumen. It was clear from the very beginning of the match that she had regained her self-assurance and was prepared to compete with the very best players in the game.

At the JM Eagle LA Championship, she did not come away with a trophy. But, she did find a way to win the competition on an individual level.

LPGA Star speaks out about her success

Aditi Ashok, an Indian golfer had been playing on the LPGA Tour for seven years before she qualified for her first playoff. Ashok managed to bag a second place at the JM Eagle LA Championship for the very first time ever.

Not only does Aditi’s incredible finish signify a turning point in her career, but it also illustrates her sheer resiliency and undying dedication to the sport.

On her recent performance Aditi added, “Sometimes it doesn’t really matter which course, if you like it or you don’t. Sometimes if you are playing good you end up playing good. It’s still the golf at the end of the day.”

According to an interview posted on the LPGA Tour website, she also mentioned: “I’ve never played in this position on the LPGA, to be near the lead on the first day and stay there the whole tournament.”

“The competition is just so deep out here. Ten people have a good tournament but only one can win.  I’m happy with the way I played.”

Ashok attributes her recent accomplishment to the hard work she put in throughout the off season. The golfer, who is now 25 years old, made numerous adjustments to all parts of her game; nonetheless, she noticed the most improvement in her play off the tee.

The LPGA pro added, “Just working on swing speed in the off-season, gained a lot of yardages, so that’s definitely helped,”

She also added, “The driving distance helped a lot and just working on being more consistent through the game. I changed my irons back to what I was using a couple years ago and I’m more comfortable with that, so that’s helped this week.”

Ashok has exploded into the scene on the international level because of her extraordinary talent and unflappable poise. She has consistently demonstrated her brilliance on the course, frequently competing against the top golfers in the world.

Aditi Ashok’s Performance in LA Championship

The final round of the JM Eagle LA Championship took place at the Wilshire Country Club in Los Angeles. Hannah Green came out on top to claim the title. Her first LPGA triumph in four years resulted from her victory in a playoff over Xiyu Lin of China and Aditi Ashok of India.  

At Wilshire Country Club, Ashok and Lin finished with a score of 67 on Sunday, April 30, 2023. It put them at 9 under par for the course. Green made a birdie on the 18th hole with a putt of 25 feet, putting her in a three-way playoff with the other two players.

Throughout the competition, the Indian golfer left viewers in wonder with her unrelenting dedication and remarkable skills, leaving them in awe of her performance. She has made a stunning recovery, catapulting herself near the top of the scoreboard following a stellar performance. She secured a remarkable tie for second place in her most recent Tour start, a noteworthy accomplishment.
