When Kang began her career, nobody doubted that she would be the next best golfer in the world. Although it seemed true at first, Kang encountered a winless year in 2021. Her momentum took a hit, but the 29-year-old has now returned in style.
Kang started playing golf at 12 and won US Women’s Amateur in 2010 and 2011; Kang turned pro in 2012. She has six LPGA Tour victories, including the 2017 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship.

The Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions is Kang’s first win since the 2020 Marathon LPGA Classic presented by Dana. However, what does Danielle think about her victory after an offseason?
Danielle Kang explains what she felt about her victory after an offseason.
“It feels really peaceful actually. I feel peaceful today. I don’t feel super excited. I don’t feel unbelievably thrilled. I just feel like nice,” said Danielle.
Kang said that everybody has been asking about what she felt winning after an offseason. However, she doesn’t see it that way. She explained that last year was bad, and she fought against it. But, she stopped fighting for the last couple of months.
Kang said, “It was a tough year for me. It was a bad year for me. I fought through. But for the last seven-eight weeks, I just dropped the fight. I didn’t need to fight anymore. It was a new year.”

Kang also added that she concentrated on her physique, nutrition, and golfing skills more than thinking about the consequences. “I was just trying to gain weight, trying to change my nutrition, change the way I approach the golf game, more so than be so caught up in the way I felt and how I felt and what I’m going to do and what if I didn’t do it.”
