Anna Nordqvist emerged victorious at the AIG Women’s Open, securing her third major title. Nordqvist’s victory remains special, especially as it got her a win three years later in Scotland. A favorite to win no matter what, Nordqvist has a Scottish caddie and a Scottish husband.
She delivered a one-shot win, scoring 12-under 69 to secure the major championship. Georgia Hall, Madalene Sagstorm, Lizette Salas finished T2, with the 34-year-old Swedish icon coming out on top. Mostly flawless in her approach, Nordqvist’s hardly made any errors on her way to victory.
“I think this is the most special one,” Nordqvist said, “just because it’s taken me a couple years and I’ve fought so hard and questioned whether I was doing the right things”. She added that her caddie Paul Cormack worked very hard, and she wanted to try and win for him as well. She also thanked her husband and family, who have been right there to support her.

A little while after winning at the AIG Women’s Open, Nordqvist posted a series of photos with her dog Max. “10 weeks on the road… nice to finally be back home and get to meet the latest addition to our family, 10 week old English cream retriever Max,” she wrote, adding that it was love at first sight.
While people gushed over her new puppy, they could not help but notice that his mouth was in the AIG Women’s Open trophy she won not too long ago. Some comments only gushed over the retriever, some noted that maybe the first photo could have been kept private.
Most fans stuck to congratulating her for her win, also happy about her getting a cute puppy.
