With PSG’s formidable line-up, they have the potential to cause havoc in any competition. Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe form a terrific trio to scare off even the best of defenders in the world. However, this could possibly be the last season that Mbappe stays with the French side.

With his contract expiring in June, reports state Mbappe might be on the lookout for a move away from the club. Notably, Real Madrid were the front-runners in the race to sign the French youngster, but when club president Florentino Perez offered them €200 million, PSG rejected the bid. This had him puzzled.

Florentino Perez bewildered with PSG

With Mbappe expected to join Real Madrid in the summer, Perez questioned the decisions taken by the club as they rejected Madrid’s bid. According to soccer journalist Fabrizio Romano, the president could not believe that even a figure as big as 200 million was rejected.

“The state owned clubs don’t sell their players. It’s a madness. Now we offer €200 million for a single player and they don’t sell him. When players finish their contract it’s better,” said Perez.

Fans are expecting the French forward to leave the club this summer. Moving to Real Madrid would be a new challenge considering the club is in a rebuilding stage. However, with PSG already having rejected one offer, what will Madrid do next?

A devastating loss to Bayern Munich in the finals, two seasons ago, made it a disappointing campaign for PSG. For the first time in the club’s history, they reached the finals, but sadly, failed to perform well. Now, the club looks in a better position to win the title. Apart from Messi, they brought in two new wingbacks who are vital to the club’s chances.

With all the hype around Ramos, Donnarumma, and Messi, the signings of Hakimi and Mendes will prove their worth as seasons come by. Both are attack-minded fullbacks who have the pace to burn. Hakimi won the Serie A title with Inter Milan last time around as Nuno Mendes can potentially become the world’s best in that position. Thus, PSG’s chances this season have improved due to the talent they have in their squad.
