25-year old Leo Carter became the fourth player to hit six sixes in an over in T20s on Sunday. He achieved the feat during the match between Canterbury and Northern Knights at Hagley Oval, Christchurch in the 2019/20 edition of New Zealand’s T20 competition Super Smash.

The 16th over bowled by Anton Devcich to Carter completely changed the complexion of the match. Chasing a huge target of 220 runs, Canterbury got off to a good start. Opener Chad Bowes went on to score a half century. The target however still seemed a long way to go when the score read 104 for 3 in the 11th over.

But Carter, along with captain Cole McConchie, took Canterbury home with seven balls to spare. Carter scored 70 off 29 balls at a strike rate of 241.
