The Los Angeles Lakers played the Boston Celtics about two weeks before the NBA’s suspension. It was LeBron James and his team who came out on top in a hard-fought encounter.
The Lakers claimed victory as the match ended 114-112. Although the Celtics lost, it is for a different reason the match became a memorable for one member from the losing side.
Jayson Tatum was undoubtedly the best player on the court that night. The 21-year-old forward played a smashing game for his team and equaled his career-high of 41 points in a match.

LeBron James and his nickname for Jayson Tatum
After the game, James posted a picture of Tatum standing a few feet apart from him and captioned the photo:
“That boi to the left of me is an ABSOLUTE PROBLEM!! Keep going #YoungKing #OnelegSleeveGang lol.”

James, who has a nickname for himself, bestowed on Tatum a brand new name, calling him “The Problem.” He also tagged him as the “Young King.”
Now if King James gave you a tag, it would go viral, as it did. It was Tatum’s turn to react to his new moniker given by the legend.
Tatum, appearing recently on ‘The Jump’, validated his new nickname by saying he would take it.

“I mean, I’ll take that nickname. I remember, he (LeBron) posted, it was like right after we played him. We were in L.A. and I remember was back in my hotel room and I was taking a nap because it was an early game,” explained Tatum.
Jayson Tatum joins #TheJump & says he “hasn’t touched a basketball” since Boston’s last game. We also discussed last year’s MVP (he thinks Harden should have won), food he’s helping get to families in Boston & St. Louis, and if he’s on board with the new nickname “The Problem” pic.twitter.com/Pe0OxboyY2

“And I remember my best friend from back home, he called me and he was like, ‘Bro, go on your Instagram! LeBron just shouted you out.’ And I remember I saw it and I’m a competitor, but I realize at the end of the day, that’s one of the greatest players ever and somebody I looked up to growing up, so I still understand that’s a big deal.”
Even though Tatum’s new nickname has a nice ring to it, only time will tell us if it will stick around or not. Only NBA greats end up with epithets that last throughout. Not to forget, Shaquille O’Neal once called Paul Pierce “The Truth.”
