LeBron James and Stephen Curry are two of the greatest players of all time and have helped carry the flag of the NBA for a number of years. They faced off against each other in four straight NBA Finals. Since 2011, either LeBron or Curry has been in every NBA Finals except for 2020. This just goes to show the impact of both these players on their respective teams.
Both of them have been part of some historically great teams full of talent. With the Miami Heat, LeBron played with All-Star players Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. Then with the Cleveland Cavaliers, he played with Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love.

And currently, he plays with Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook at the Los Angeles Lakers. This is a great collection of talent for someone to have played with but he didn’t necessarily get help every time.

Meanwhile, Steph Curry has been a part of ‘superteams’ as well. The Golden State Warriors trio of Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and himself won a championship and broke multiple records. Then, the Warriors added Kevin Durant and they obliterated almost everyone in their path, winning two more titles.
LeBron and Curry are in ‘no help’ situations
LeBron James has famously carried teams with little help to the NBA Finals. In the 2007 playoffs, LeBron averaged 25.1 PPG, 8.1 RPG, and 8.0 APG while the next highest scorer on the team was Zydrunas Ilgauskas with 12.6 PPG. The Cleveland Cavaliers reached the Finals that year but eventually got swept by a much more experienced and balanced San Antonio Spurs team.
In the 2018 NBA playoffs, LeBron had 34 PPG, 9.1 RPG, and 9 APG while the second-best player, Kevin Love, averaged 14.9 PPG and 10.2 RPG. The Cavs got swept again by one of the greatest teams ever assembled. Meanwhile, Steph hasn’t really carried the Warriors like LeBron carried his teams, but he has stepped up to the occasion whenever he’s asked to do so.
In the three championship runs for the Warriors, Curry didn’t win the Finals MVP in any of those Finals. In the 2019 NBA Finals, with Kevin Durant injured, Steph averaged 30.5 PPG to go along with 6 APG as the Warriors lost in six games to the Toronto Raptors.
Fans chime in
There have been fans comparing Curry’s current run to the NBA Finals with the Warriors to LeBron’s 2018 run. After one fan said that LeBron had enough help in the Finals, fans started giving their take.
Lebron fans always try to create a situation where he had no help, the team he gets smacked against against is better, every player he’s compared to has better teams… lebron always a victim lol pic.twitter.com/3diFuAOgcH

2007 and 2018 was no help. 2017 was not enought to beat the best team ever….. 2014 he was going good and won 2 rings. When we say he had no help do you ppl actually think we refer to kyrie/love or bosh/wade days. If so, please see a doctor

Facts. Lebron is the biggest victim in NBA history, even though he builds his own teams. Make it make sense. I stopped arguing with lebron stans, they excuse makers who like being victims in life like him
