Treyarch announced players will get new double experience and double weapon experience bonuses in Zombie Mode till November 30th. This let a huge number of players to hop into zombie mode just to level up their weapons.

Players were able to do exactly that quite rapidly thanks to this event; however, the demise of players’ joy was not far away. How Treyarch reacted to this situation

At first, it didn’t seem too big of an issue, but later many players discovered they were gaining even lower weapon XP than they used to. This created a tremendous fuss in the player base. Many thought it was a bug at first glance; however, Treyarch stood up for itself soon after and explained it wasn’t a bug but rather the current meta for the game.

This did not go down well with the players, many of whom are desperately trying to catch the studio’s attention and get them to turn it back.
