New Delhi, 27 March 2017: One of most talented athletes from Spain was seen flying the flag for Spanish football in Delhi, as part of LaLiga’s ongoing effort to boost visibility and profile of the Spanish sport globally.

LaLiga gave the Delhi media a chance to get hands-on experience in Badminton from their Ambassador & Olympic Gold medalist Carolina Marin today, who was in the city to compete in the BWF World Super series.

Speaking on this media engaging activity, LaLiga Ambassador, Carolina Marin said “I am grateful to LaLiga for giving me the opportunity to represent the Spanish league in this great country. It has been a privilege for me to visit India again as I got to interact with fans of both La Liga and badminton. The Indian fans made me feel at home and it was a very interesting battle when I took them on in badminton. I hope my teaching will help them improve their game, a bit.”

LaLiga is the organizing body of the first and second tiers of Spanish football (LaLiga Santander and LaLiga 1 2 3). The top flight, currently known as LaLiga Santander, is considered the best domestic club competition on the planet. It is made up of 20 teams, which notably include Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, two of the world’s biggest clubs.

According to the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS), LaLiga Santander has been the strongest league in the world, every year since 2010. Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Sevilla FC have dominated European and global club competitions in recent seasons, which is a testament to LaLiga Santander supremacy over other leagues.
