La Liga President Javier Tebas has proclaimed that neither Cristiano Ronaldo nor Antoine Griezmann will be leaving their respective clubs this summer. The Portuguese and the Frenchman, who both play for two different Madrid clubs, have been linked to a move away from Spain this summer.
Speaking to the media, Tebas said, ” I think Cristiano stays at Real Madrid and Antoine Griezmann stays at Atletico.” When pressed specifically about Ronaldo, he declared,” Cristiano Ronaldo leaving, out of 10, I’m worried about a five or a four. It wouldn’t be so dramatic for the league. We are becoming more independent of great players.”
The former Manchester United man’s future has been a subject of great discussion in the last few weeks. He stated that he was considering leaving Real Madrid right after the Los Galacticos defeated Liverpool in the Champions League final in Kyiv. While most dismiss it as a ploy to increase his weekly wages, others have said that it is possible that the 33-year-old’s time at the Bernabeu is up and he is most likely to be replaced by Neymar or Eden Hazard this window. Even if he isn’t, it is probable that his time for the first time will be reduced significantly given the rise of Marco Asensio and Lucas Vasquez.
Griezmann, on the other hand, has been linked with a move to both Barcelona and Manchester United. The former Real Sociedad man has been in scintillating form this season is most likely to end up as a Cule since United is paying more focus on Gareth Bale. His goals helped Atletico Madrid finish second in the La Liga ahead of their eternal city rivals and also helped them win their 2nd UEFA Europa League title.
However, their success at the World Cup will also go a long way to determine where they eventually end up at so keep watching this space for more.
