There’s no driver in the Cup Series with as diverse of a 2024 campaign as Kyle Larson. While fans are eagerly anticipating his attempt at the Coca-Cola 600 and Indy 500 double, Larson’s eyes are on the Great American Race this weekend. After all, this year could finally be the one that witnesses the 2021 Cup Series champion add a win at the Daytona 500 to his catalogue. Now while Larson is gearing up for the season, his family is at Disneyland. One may think that Larson would be somewhat displeased with having to miss a family trip to Disney World. However, the HMS star revealed just why it all worked out in his favor instead.

Kyle Larson exposes the worst song that could get stuck in a driver’s head during the Daytona 500

Before the Great American Race takes NASCAR media by storm, Dirty Mo Media embarked on a hilarious quest in the pit lane to find out “What is the worst song to have stuck in your head for a 500-mile race?” And for Kyle Larson, the answer is the exact reason he’s glad to not be on the family trip.

He stated, The family is at Disney World right now and I’m glad I’m not there because I’d probably get ‘It’s a small world’ stuck in my head, so that would be the worst.”After all, would anyone really be able to focus on a 500-mile race with the music from Disney’s magical ride? “No, no, not at all,” said Larson. “It would just be on repeat for four hours or whatever it is. So no, that wouldn’t be good!”

Larson wasn’t the only driver with a few songs to keep out of his mind. After barely making it into the Daytona 500, Jimmie Johnson wished he wouldn’t have to face such an ideal either. Citing Lyrics from Bullet with Butterfly Wings by The Smashing Pumpkins, Johnson revealed the time when he had to endure the song for over an entire day in his head during the Baja 1000 endurance race.

Johnson shared, “‘Despite all my rage, I’m still just a rat in a cage’ was stuck in my head with that guitar you know, for the entire Baja 1000 and it was like a 26-hour race.” On the other hand, Tyler Reddick also had a promising candidate, “Baby Shark for sure. That’d be bad. Can we stop talking about it?”

Speaking of Kyle Larson’s wishes to maintain full focus at the tri-oval during the Great American Race, there would be nothing greater than finally etching his name into that decorated list of winners. While Kyle Larson has found great success in multiple avenues of the sport, no legendary career would be quite complete without a Daytona 500 trophy.

Reflecting on the importance of the season-opening extravaganza, Larson was quoted by Motorsport.com, “I want to win this race really bad, just as bad as everybody does here on the property. I’ve always accomplished a lot of good things in my career. I’m not anywhere close to being done. I mean, I love coming here. I love trying to win it. You want to win the big ones. It doesn’t get any bigger than this one for the NASCAR schedule. We’ll keep trying.”

On the other hand, it isn’t just Kyle Larson that knows how capable he is of getting that elusive win. AJ Allmendinger also shared with First Coast News recently, “He’s so good at driving a racecar that this race will never define his career, but, I know the competitor he is, he wants it bad and he’ll be one to be reckoned with this weekend.”
