Los Angeles Lakers’ 2017 draft pick Kyle Kuzma has been in the rumour mill for a while now.
Before the start of the 2019/20 NBA season, Lakers had signed Anthony Davis in exchange for a few of their young players. The Lakers had formed a powerful duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, but they still required somebody outside the two to support the duo. Many expected Kuzma to fill that role.
However, at 24, Kuzma failed to live up to expectations. This led many into believing that the Lakers could use Kuzma as a trade asset with the Los Angeles team looking for draft picks in exchange for him.

A few rumours surfaced regarding the same and have been going around since the season’s transfer window opened on December 15. Reacting to the rumours, Kuzma believed that it was all an effect of being a part of a big franchise like Lakers and it doesn’t worry him a lot.
“I mean, I just got to not worry about it. For me, I’ve been in trade rumors ever since I came here. I think that’s just a thing that happens when you’re a Laker,” Kuzma said as per Dave McMenamin of ESPN.

“You’re always in trade rumors, especially around this time, so it doesn’t really matter at the end of the day, you just control what you can control.”

Kyle Kuzma can still develop
There is another school of thought that believes Kuzma is in fact, not up for trade and the Lakers could try and develop him as a player. Brooklyn Nets had drafted him in the 2017 NBA Draft, but he was immediately traded to the Lakers on the draft night. Kuzma has been developing as a player with the Lakers, and they can be a little patient with him.
