It is no coincidence that Max Verstappen won two world championship titles while being partnered with Sergio Perez. Perez’s support and wingman ship have been lauded by many fans, especially after the Japanese Grand Prix.
Fans demand a kiss in response to adorable ‘Chestappen’ moment
For the fans who swoon over the friendship between Checo and Verstappen, though, something happened to create waves of ecstatic screams. In a recent Meet the Fans event hosted by Telcel, Perez and Verstappen appeared and all but endorsed their ongoing bromance.
When the host asked Max which celebrity Checo looked like, he answered Tom Cruise. But then Verstappen took a look at his teammate and corrected himself, “Actually I think he [Sergio Perez] is better looking.”
This sent a shockwave of enthused roars among the audience who immediately began chanting, “Beso! Beso!” (Spanish for ‘kiss’ or ‘peck’). And they were joined by fans on Twitter.

Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen’s friendship, in the only sport where being teammates means little, is truly wholesome to behold. And hopefully, it will last for many more years to come.
Sergio Perez says he will win without help from Max Verstappen
Max Verstappen’s triumph at the Japanese Grand Prix earned him his second Driver’s Championship title. But he was not alone in that effort. His teammate Sergio Perez’s support also contributed to that win.
And the fans have been going crazy over their stellar bond, celebrating the ideal duo. But, at the same time, many have been demanding Max Verstappen also step up to support Checo in securing wins. Especially in his hometown, and perhaps even a championship title next year?
However, Perez disagreed with the internet on this. He is determined to earn his victories himself, without any outside help.

“I don’t need to be given anything,” Perez told ESPN. “I have achieved everything without any gifts for so many years – not that it is necessary.”
“In the end, I don’t think about it. I think about my work, about being perfect this weekend and looking for that victory [in Mexico].”
