Finnish veteran Kimi Raikkonen has always been well-known for his wit and dry humour. The press conference after the free practice session in Montreal was further proof of this. In Practice 1, Kimi Raikkonen was the best of the rest in 6th, however, FP2 told a completely different story. The Finn and his teammate, Antonio Giovinazzi, were well down the order.
Naturally, a number of journalists wanted to know what went wrong after a strong showing in FP1. However, the 39-year old, as usual, was in no mood to embellish his point. However, he did mention that the grip was lacking and the full effect of the Ferrari upgrade has yet to be gauged. In addition to that, with Antonio Giovinazzi facing an issue, it was left in Raikkonen’s hands to fly the flag.
Meanwhile, Mercedes dominated in FP1, with Ferrari not far behind, but in FP2, it was the other way around. Now, the drivers and teams are gearing up for FP3 and qualifying later on. Also, to the delight of the McLaren fans, Carlos Sainz Jr found himself 4th.
