Team News:
Western Storm
This is a team on top of its form in the tournament, winning all seven matches so far. With all the players in such good form, selection for fantasy leagues becomes that much more difficult. Captain Heather Knight has been in excellent form throughout the tournament, and is fresh from another match winning knock in the previous match. Last season’s highest scorer, Smriti Mandhana, despite a slow start to the season, is back amongst runs. Wicket-keeper batter Rachael Priest is another player who can change the game with the bat. The bowling department also looks in good shape with Freya Davies, Claire Nicholas and Deepti Sharma, all contributing. The fact that Davies and Nicolas cost only eight credits in Dream 11 make them a sure pick.
Surrey Stars
The Stars have a strong middle order, but their batting failed to put up a good score in the previous match. Despite that, the likes of Sarah Taylor, Natalie Sciver, & Dane van Niekerk are expected to come good in the must-win match. Niekerk, with are good all-round capabilities is a good choice for captain in fantasy leagues. Lizele Lee is another another in-form all-rounder to watch out for.
Predicted Playing XI
Western Storm
Smriti Mandhana, Rachel Priest, Heather Knight (C), Fran Wilson, Deepti Sharma, Sonia Odedra, Sophie Luff, Naomi Dattani, Anya Shrubsole, Freya Davies, Claire Nicholas.
Surrey Stars
Lizelle Lee, Bryony Smith, Sarah Taylor (WK), Natalie Sciver (C), Dane van Niekerk, Marizanne Kapp, Aylish Cranstone, Laura Marsh, Gwenan Davies, Mady Villiers, Amy Gordon
Injury and Availability News:
Although there is no injury news as now, the Storms might look to rest one or two of their players, considering the fact that they have almost qualified for the finals. For Surrey, they will want their batting, which let them down in the last match, to come good.
Weather and pitch report
The weather in Taunton on Wednesday is expected to be partly cloudy, with a maximum temperature of 21 degree Celcius. Cloudy conditions in England have always supported swing bowling, and the team bowling first might extract the freshness in the pitch.
The Taunton pitch should be good for batting once the early overs are negotiated. Once the sun beats down on the surface, batting might ease out even more, making the teams wanting to chase.
H2H record
Surrey stars have been quite dominant over Western Storm, losing only one of their previous five encounters. This season though, it looks tougher as the Storms are yet to be defeated.
Dream XI Prediction Team:
Wicketkeepers: R Priest and S Taylor
Batters: L Lee, H Knight, F Wilson
All-rounders: N Sciver, D Sharma, D V Niekerk
