Karen Khachanov & Wife Veronika Shkliaeva: When did they First Meet & When did they Get Married?

Russain tennis player Karen Khachanov, a year after his Davis Cup debut, married a girl named Veronika Shkliaeva. The duo married in April, 2016. She is known to be frequently travelling with the Khachanov during his matches and was many times spotted watching his games. After over three years of a happy marriage, Karen and Veronika welcomed their first child- a boy- on September 14, 2019. The couple named their child David.

However, things didn’t start off in the best of fashions for the couple.

Karen & Veronika first met as children-

As a child, Karen attended Sozvezdie secondary school in Moscow and later, University of Physical Education in Moscow. He grew up looking up to Marat Safin and Juan Martin del Potro in the sport he is now fully into. In addition to tennis, he also enjoys basketball and football. He was also very good in Basketball and there was a feeling he might have become a Basketball player if not a Tennis player.

It was in a recent interview that the Russian said that he had first met Veronika when he was 8 years old. He also said that he had left a poor first impression when they encountered in an airport

“I have known Veronika since 8 years old, but I didn’t make a good first impression. We met at the airport. I was playing with a baggage cart and hit her. She told her mother: ‘What an idiot!’”

Karen Khachanov & Veronika Shkliaeva have known each other since then. He also said that they also trained together at the same tennis club when they were 13. They grew fond of each other and would involve themselves in a constant chat. They were reported to have started dating during their late teenage years and in 2016, Khachanov and Veronica got married. Karen was twenty years old at the time
