Khabib vs Gaethje sealed for UFC 254
Dana White newly revealed to CNN that the lightweight unification bout is going to get down at UFC 254, with the venue being undecided still. After the welterweight, featherweight, and bantamweight title settlements at UFC 251, UFC 252 will host the heavyweight strap decider. Daniel Cormier will challenge Miocic in the trilogy bout before bidding goodbye to his stellar MMA career.
While Costa vs Adesanya for the middleweight belt is also in the works, Dana White has sealed the lightweight unification bout as the headliner of UFC 254. Khabib has already hinted at his retirement from UFC and his upcoming fight is going to be his second-last appearance in the octagon, as per reports.

Khabib has also clarified about notching 30 wins before he retires. That was his father’s wish. However, things can change if Justin Gaethje dethrones Khabib from the lightweight crown. A re-match will inevitably be on the cards then.
Yet, it will bring a huge doubt regarding Khabib’s UFC departure plans. Khabib is currently 28-0 in MMA and Justin Gaethje is 22-2. Thus, both the elites will look forward to overpowering the other at the upcoming UFC 254 headliner.
