Colombian superstar James Rodriguez wants to return to Real Madrid someday. The midfielder, who is on-loan at Bayern Munich has expressed his desire to play for Los Galacticos again but not until 2019 at least.

The 26-year-old playmaker went to Bavaria on loan last season and has excelled so far. He was not a part of former Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane’s plans, but new boss Julian Lopetegui sees him as an integral part of the team. Speaking to Marca, the player said,” So far I am still at Bayern. I am happy and the fans and the team have shown their affection to me.”

At the end of his two-year loan deal, the German club has the option to buy him permanently for just 42 million euros but James believes that his agent can take that off the table. He is extremely keen on putting on the famous white shirt at the Santiago Bernabeu and has even kept a home at Madrid for the same purpose.

Despite having the option to return this season, the Colombian has decided to spend another year at the Allianz Arena as a gesture of respect to the famous Bavarian club and its fans. Having just returned from the World Cup, he is also at the top of his form and fitness and he will be looking to pick up from where he left off last season under Niko Kovac, the new Bayern boss.
