Marc Stein stated that “It must be noted that there is enough noise circulating leaguewide about Harden’s reported openness to relocation this summer”. This clearly shows us that Harden might be open to a trade. Additionally, this points out that there is immense interest in the 9-time All-Star from all around the league.
What does this mean for the Brooklyn Nets?
New York City demands athletes to provide proof of immunization to play indoors. Irving is still not inoculated and will likely only be available for Nets’ away games. Irving has not appeared in a game this season since the Nets decided he would not be a part-time player and would only play if he was COVID-19 immunized.
Kyrie Irving is an exceptional player, and it is correct to say that he is one of the top players in the league. However, Kyrie’s decision to not get vaccinated has harmed the Nets. This is because he is not able to perform on the court.
This season, Durant has been the catalyst for Brooklyn, with his scoring average reaching new highs since his MVP season in 2013-14. As a result of his effect on a nightly basis, KD has risen to the top of MVP discussions.

The Brooklyn Nets reported on Sunday, January 16, that an MRI indicated Kevin Durant’s left knee has a damaged MCL. The absence of Durant, who is averaging 29.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game, will have a significant impact on the Nets. As one of the top players in the NBA, Durant’s absence will be felt throughout the league.
Following an MRI this morning, Kevin Durant was diagnosed with a sprained medial collateral of the left knee. Durant is expected to return to full strength following a period of rehabilitation. Updates regarding his return will be provided as appropriate.

The Nets have tied up most of their resources in the ‘Big 3’ of their team. So a chance of James Harden being relocated has the potential to damage the Nets. The Beard has made a huge impact on how Nets carry their game. Harden has great passing capabilities and on top of that, he is a unique playmaker who focusses on pick-and-roll plays. Since Iriving is not cleared to play all of the games, the Nets depends on Harden to take the role of an elite guard.
Where will James Harden go?
It is impossible to say where Harden would relocate to, if he does. As of now, his relocation is just alleged, not sure. However, being an All-Star, MVP, and scoring champion will definitely generate a lot of interest from across the league. James Harden will be a great addition to any team he goes.
