Jack Sock Makes a Return To ATP Tour at Atlanta Open 2019

After staying away from the ATP circuit for almost six months now, Jack Sock plans to resume his campaign on the men’s tour. He will be making his comeback at next week’s  Atlanta Open and along with Sock, the five-time and defending champion, John Isner, Frances Tiafoe, Reilly Opelka, Felix Auger-Aliassime, and Diego Schwartzman will be present in the tournament.

WTA’s 11th ranked tennis player on the singles track, Aryna Sabalenka decided to sign up with Jack Sock for the mixed doubles events on the tennis tour.

In 2019, Sock’s hip caused issues during the Hopman Cup, consequently, he withdrew in the second set against Japan. Also, he teamed up with CoCo Vandeweghe at Hopman Cup and they couldn’t produce any favorable outcomes. At Australian Open 2019, Jock Sock lost his opener to Alex Bolt and won two matches in the doubles category where he partnered Jackson Withrow.

He landed up injuring his index finger while snowboarding during the offseason of 2018 and that has led to his hiatus from tennis. The Nebraska-born tennis player, Jack Sock is presently ranked 177th in the world and this is his lowest ranking since October 2012.

He rose to World Number eight when he was declared the champion at Paris Masters in 2017. That win assisted him to become part of 2017’s ATP World Tour finals and he was the first American since Mardy Fish in 2011 to qualify for the best-eight event in the men’s game.

Besides his accomplishments on the singles track, Jack Sock has contributed immensely to doubles tennis. In 2018, Sock replaced Bob Bryan (who was recovering from hip surgery) and teamed up with Mike Bryan. They had a triumphant run on the courts of Wimbledon and U.S. Open. Also, they were the champions at Indian Wells and ATP Finals in 2018.
