Anthony Yarde urges the British public to stay indoors, as his father falls victim to the pandemic and dies of Coronavirus.

Anthony Yarde took to social media to announce this news. He said his father was rather healthy. He had no underlying health issues before he contracted the virus. This is serious, Anthony pleas with the people to stay indoors and help prevent its spread.

The light heavyweight fighter is on lockdown himself along with the rest of the British nation. The British Boxing Board of Control announced that all the bouts that were scheduled till the month of April, stand canceled. Sporting events all over the world have been either canceled or postponed. Even the Olympics will not take place this year.

Yard has won 19 of his 20 professional bouts. He was scheduled to compete for the Commonwealth Light heavyweight title in April. But that doesn’t seem likely given the current situation.

Anthony Yarde’s promotor also issued a statement of condolence for the grieving boxer. He said, ?Frank Warren and everyone at Queensberry Promotions would like to express sincere condolences to Anthony Yarde and his family after the untimely passing of his father. Coronavirus is an issue affecting all of us, but that doesn?t make the individual casualties any less tragic. ?we hope that his fans listen to Anthony?s heartfelt plea for people to take the government?s advice seriously so we can try and minimize the suffering of others.?

Celebrities and people in the position of power have repeatedly asked people to practice the habit of social distancing. This will help bring the count of people affected down. Anthony in his social media post once again reiterates.?He said, ?I?m not a doctor but I do know if you stay home you are less likely to catch it or pass it on. It?s seriously not worth the risk.?
