With Scottie Scheffler, the back-to-back PGA Tour Player of the Year. Boasting an impressive record of 13 top-5 and 17 top-10 finishes in 22 starts last season, the World No. 1 solidified his status among the golfing elite. As he gears up for his third appearance at The Sentry, Scheffler joins the exclusive club of players achieving this honor in consecutive years, a feat not seen since Tiger Woods in 2007.
Adding to his list of accomplishments, Scheffler clinches the Byron Nelson Award for the lowest-scoring average of the year. Even after such a wonderful year, Scheffler was subjected to comparison with now-ex-PGA Tour player Jon Rahm. Although a lot has changed since last season, the topic of World No. 1 and World No. 3 continues to persist, as was again witnessed at the press conference held at Kapalua.

Further, the 27-year-old reflected on the achievements that he garnered over the last season and stated, “I’m very proud of the body of work that I put in” He expressed pride in the “consistency” and “solid year” that brought him three wins, including the Hero World Challenge.
The moderator put forth the question of the purpose of the presser, since Scheffler chose not to speak about the past or the future. Upon being asked the question, World No. 1 simply replied, “Well, we could talk about my pro-am today. I hit a good shot into 1.”
After a riveting 2023, all eyes are set on the performance that the six-time PGA Tour winner will present in the fresh season. When asked about his way forward for the 2024 season, Scheffler himself gave a sneak peek at his plans for the same.
