As the first week of the Wimbledon Championships 2021 is about to end, there have been some upsets and some bright moments too. Today, British teenager Emma Raducanu entered the fourth round. In doing so, she has lifted the spirit of British fans as she is the only local player still alive in the women’s draw.
After winning her match today, Emma Raducanu recalled an incident she had with her parents. They were appalled at the number of kits their daughter was carrying with herself to the Wimbledon Championships 2021. After making it to the second week, she now says that she needs to do some laundry.
While narrating this episode, Raducanu stated, “When I was packing for the bubble, my parents said to me: “Isn’t that too many sets of match kit?” ‘I think I’m going to have to do some laundry.”?

Coming onto her performance today, the 18-year-old was aggressive right from the beginning. The hunger and determination were evident right from the go. She hit more winners and fewer unforced errors, which helped her cross the finishing line.
Reflecting on her season, Emma began competing on the main stage at the beginning of the grass season this year. She did impress after making it to the Round of 64 in Nottingham. After that, she reached the quarterfinal at the ITF Great Britain 01A.
After winning her third-round match today, Emma Raducanu will face a first-time fourth-round entrant at the Wimbledon Championships, Ajla Tomljanovic. It promises to be an exciting encounter and the crowd will be fully behind the 18-year-old player.
