It will follow an extravagant closing ceremony poised to mesmerize the audience one last time before the curtain rises again for the Olympics in 2028 in Los Angeles, California, USA. The mega event is slated to draw the curtain to its brilliant run of 17 days on 11 August 2024. The Paris Olympics opening ceremony divulged from the traditions and was organized outdoors along the Seine River. The ceremony concluded at the temporary venue of Jardins du Trocadéro.

However, the closing ceremony isn’t happening on the banks of the river Seine. Instead, the magnificent 80,000-seater Stade de France stadium will host the closing ceremony. The stadium will be turned into a gigantic concert hall that will feature the closing formalities of the Paris Olympics alongside the star-studded extravaganza.

There is an element of surprise with the Paris Olympics closing ceremony. While the exact details of events happening during the closing ceremony are limited, it’s certain that Thomas Jolly, who choreographed the opening ceremony, is also in charge of the closing ceremony. In his words, the closing ceremony is going to be “very visual, very choreographic, very acrobatic” and will have “an operatic dimension to give a great visual fresco and say goodbye to athletes from all over the world.” The closing day of the Olympics will see the medal ceremony for the women’s marathon and the parade of athletes who have participated in the summer games. According to Olympics.com, Katies Ledecky and Nick Mead will be the United States flag bearers for the closing ceremony at Stade de France. Then, there will be the ceremonial handover of the Olympic flag from Anne Hidalgo, the Mayor of Praise, to Karen Bass, the current mayor of Los Angeles. 

However, beyond the regular formalities, the closing ceremony will culminate in a grand gala of events. Over a hundred performers, acrobats, dancers, and circus artists are poised to make the ceremony as colorful and vibrant as possible.
