Joe Burrow, the 2021 comeback player of the year, appears to be in serious peril after the Cincinnati Bengals’ shaky start to the new NFL season. Joe Burrow earned a lot of respect and admiration after leading the Bengals to their 3rd Super Bowl appearance in franchise history last season.

However, with only 3 touchdowns and 4 interceptions in two games, the next possible big name among the NFL’s great quarterbacks seems to have opted to be a no-show on both the field and social media.
Joe Burrow is still a long way from replicating his last year’s performance
Joe Burrow is the same player that got the second-highest passer rating in the whole NFL season in 2021, after Aaron Rodgers. His outstanding record as a rookie in 2021 is still highly regarded. In his second year as a quarterback, Burrow led the Bengals to the AFC North title with a win against the Kansas City Chiefs.
However, in the most recent season of The NFL, the QB has failed to get a firm grasp on the field. Cincinnati Bengals have now lost two straight games against the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Dallas Cowboys.
There are clear rumors circulating on social media concerning Burrow’s poor field performance. According to his statement on Wednesday, he has chosen to ignore internet reactions.
“What’s great is I don’t have Twitter or Instagram right now, so I’ve seen none of it,” Burrow clearly mentioned. “We’re focused on what’s going on in here. I’m sure it’s not a very good reaction, but I think it’ll be a different reaction as we get going here.”
Is Burrow opting to ignore opposing viewpoints in order to concentrate on the game: What do the fans think?
But, Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has not always been reluctant about using social media. He has been quite active.
Fans and sports enthusiasts have seen him use social media in the past to communicate with fans and deliver game updates.

Couldn’t be more excited about the future of our organization. We have a great foundation and great people at the top. Look forward to giving the fans what they deserve. Also hopefully that’s the last time I ever have to watch a game on tv🤟

But this was when things were going Burrow’s way. After the 0-2 start, Burrow’s decision prompted speculation that he is suffering from a ‘mild form of Kap disease’. Jason Whitlock, the media personality and author, believes Burrow is afflicted with Kaepernick-like arrogance and wokeness. Because of his desire to be more than an athlete, he does poorly on the field.
Is Joe Burrow suffering Colin Kaepernick disease? Kaepernick disease is a deadly form of arrogance, shallowness, narcissism, and wokeness. The disease is triggered when agents, handlers, and media influencers convince young athletes their mission is to be more than an athlete. pic.twitter.com/O7DHrRbMpK

Many Twitter users showed up to concur with this tone.
Joe Burrow is Baker Mayfield 2.0. I have thought that for several years. He was that way in the National Championship that Ed paid good money to win. There is no humble bone in that boys body.

He gave his opinions on guns and abortion. He needs to just play football 0-2

Has everything to do with 0-2 he posted after every win last year especially in the playoffs 😂

But, when it comes to social media, there has to be a ‘defensive’ voice as well.
Smart move. Started off 0-2 is never great and he realizes that he has to lock in for the sake of the team. Social media gonna be a distraction for him

I normally like Jason’s takes. But I think this is a case of Jason not doing the research. Bought into the social media buzz hyping up his drip. Burrow barely posts on social media. And if you watched any of his lengthy interviews, you’d feel silly. He’s a humble guy.
