British tennis star Emma Raducanu has been on cloud nine the past month. The teenager did the unthinkable by winning her first-ever Grand Slam title at the US Open 2021 in New York. Not many in their wildest dreams would’ve imagined the youngster going all the way.
Recently, there was a development with regard to the Briton. She is expected to play at the Indian Wells, which begins next month. She has received a wildcard and her performance during the US Open may have helped her earn entry to the event.

The Indian Wells event got postponed due to the pandemic. It is usually held in March; however, organizers have rescheduled it during the latter part of the season. The event will begin on October 4 and end on October 17. During the initial days, certain players will be competing in the qualifying rounds.
Emma Raducanu will compete in a WTA 1000 event for the first time
The British star will be appearing in the Californian desert tournament for the first time in her career. It will be the first time she would be competing in a WTA 1000 event. Well, all things are moving in the right direction for the youngster. In a short span, she has already become a sensation amongst fans.

She impressed during the British summer
Coming back to Emma, she was first noticed this season at the Wimbledon Championships. She was impressive as she managed to make it to the second week of a Grand Slam event in her first appearance. She lost in the fourth round as she had to withdraw from the match.
In New York, she beat some of the best players in the game in order to reach the final of the US Open. She beat another upcoming talent and teenager Leylah Fernandez in the final of the last Grand Slam of the season. It will be interesting to see how she performs in the 2022.
