Russian tennis ace Daniil Medvedev has been the most dominant player in the last couple of months. Ever since tennis shifted towards the North American region, the World No. 2 star has been the man to beat, and he also won the recently concluded US Open 2021.
At the moment, Daniil Medvedev is representing Team Europe in the Laver Cup 2021. Interestingly, as compared to his other rivals, he is participating for the first time in this tournament. He is the highest-ranked player in this year’s edition. And with the event being carried out on the hardcourts, he will relish his chances of guiding his team to glory.

Daniil Medvedev is the highest-ranked player at the Laver Cup 2021
Other team members like Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev, have been part of previous editions. Speaking of the Laver Cup, it begins on the 24th of September and will conclude on the 26th of September. The absence of Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic has paved the way for the youngsters to compete.

Reflecting on Medvedev’s season so far, he began competing in Melbourne and came as far as the finals before he lost to Novak Djokovic. After that, Daniil registered his best performance at Roland Garros. He ended up reaching the quarterfinals, where he was defeated by Tsitsipas.

Prior to this season, the Russian powerhouse had never managed to win a main draw match at the French Open. At the Wimbledon Championships, he came to the fourth round and lost to Hubert Hurkacz.

Once the action shifted towards the North American region, Medvedev raised his levels. He won the US Open 2021 title, his first Grand Slam title, and fans wish him the best for the Laver Cup and the remainder of the season.
