Serena Williams, the 23-time Grand Slam Champion, has immense confidence. Let us go back in time to when Dinara Safina, the Russian tennis sensation clinched the no.1 rank, and Serena was unfazed. She was ranked second but with 10 Grand Slam singles while Safina had none to her name.

Serena’s confidence has only grown in the years that followed, but the world will always remember how she claimed she was the best in the whole world at just 27.

Undisputed – the Serena legacy

“I will always beat myself,” Williams said when she was asked who her deadliest opponent was. “We all know who the real No 1 is, quite frankly, I’m the best in the world,” Williams told the press at the Italian Open that day.

Over the years, Serena has risen to be an inspiration for tennis enthusiasts across the world.

To support her claim, Serena now has 23 Grand Slams, the most won by any player in the Open Era.

Serena has held on to the no.1 rank for 319 weeks and the four Olympic Gold medals are just icing on the cake. Nobody will ever doubt that while Serena played, she remained the best, even going on to win a Grand Slam while pregnant with her daughter Olympia.

Serena Williams is an all-rounder

The tennis star also involved herself in many off-court activities. The player has always flaunted her impeccable fashion sense at many events.

Moreover, she went on to become a certified nail technician, following her passion for aesthetic nail art.

She has been a part of several social ventures and volunteered for the “Black Lives Matter” movement as well.

Williams also did  voiceovers for popular shows like “The Simpsons” with sister Venus.
