As the much anticipated IPL 2020 auction has been taking place in Kolkata, both Australia and England players have been in the radar since the beginning. Earlier 997 players were chosen but it has cut down to 332 now. Among these 186 players are Indian and 143 are overseas players and 3 players are from Associate Nations.

The players like Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Chris Lynn, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Dale Steyn & Angelo Mathews have kept their reserve price of INR 2 crore. Robin Uthappa is the only Indian who kept his base price of INR 1.5 crore while three other players – Piyush Chawla, Yusuf Pathan and Jaydev Unadkat have set their base price at INR 1 crore.

While Pat Cummins became the most expensive (15.50 Crore to Kolkata Knight Riders) foreign player in the IPL auction, Glenn Maxwell sold for 10.75 Crore to Kings XI Punjab. Like Australia players, the hype was high for England players also.

Sam Curran – 5.5 Crore

The England All-Rounder Sam Curran got his new team and it is none other than MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings. He is the first bowler to take a hat-trick in IPL 2019 while playing for Kings XI Punjab.

His IPL Career

Sam Curran made his IPL debut last year when he was bought by Kings XI Punjab for a whopping 7.2 Crores. He performed quite well with both bat and ball where his best bowling figures were 4-11 against Delhi Capitals in Mohali. He smashed a blitzy 55 off 24 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders as well. His inclusion will strengthen CSK’s pace attack which featured Indian pacer Deepak Chahar.
