South African speedster Dale Steyn has been released by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) franchise for the next edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the player is now available to be hired by any of the franchises in the upcoming auctions of IPL 2020.

However, it remains to be seen whether he puts his name in the auction for the upcoming season which is scheduled to take place on 19th December 2019, but a lot of speculation is going on the internet about him as well.

In between this, a fan asked Dale Steyn on Twitter during a Q&A session in which team would he like to play in the next season of IPL. The fan wrote, “Dale, honestly which team do you want to play for in IPL 2020?”, to which Steyn humorously replied, “Whoever can afford me”.

However, the reply of Dale Steyn became viral in no time, and it is certain that he would be picked at a decent price for the amount of experience he has and his dangerous pace. He was released by RCB due to his fitness issues. Steyn has been suffering from various health issues related to his shoulder and ankle since 2016, which has ruled him out from many games – be it in the IPL or in the International front.

A shoulder injury in Australia forced him to miss a year of cricket after having surgery on it. In 2018, although he returned to cricket against India at home, he hurt his ankle and that injury had once again ruled him out of the game and as a result, he announced his retirement from Test cricket after playing 93 Tests.

Apart from Dale Steyn, RCB has further released 12 players from the team and they would try to get some fresh talents in the auctions with a budget of 27.9 crore rupees. Meanwhile, Moeen Ali and AB de Villiers are the only foreign players which were retained by the Royal Challenger Bangalore franchise.
